Cat 1. Simon's Cat.

This one is my favourite. I love cartoons about Simon’s cat. They were created by the animator Simond Tofield. Simon’s Cat is a fictional cat. It is a collective character of 3 real cats owned by Simon called Hugh, Jess and Maisie, while Hugh has being the primary inspiration. It was announced in January 2009 that Simon's Cat would be published in book format, which is going to be released on the 1st October 2009 in the UK.

Cat 2. Nora, the piano-playing cat.

Nora is Susan Boyle of the cat’s world – the video of Nora’s performance has been viewed 15 million times on Youtube.

She grew up in a family of musicians and naturally inherited the love for music. Nora keeps a blog http://www.ravenswingstudio.com/NoraWeb/nora_news/, and recently released a DVD and published a book.

Cats 3 and 4. Talking cats Stina and Mossy.

I think they started the entire talking cat craze. People are constantly making their translation videos of this conversation or filming their cats’ answers to what Stina and Mossy said.

Cat 5. Tiggy.

Another very popular talking cat. She follows steps of Stina and Mossy with her 8 million Youtube views, while Stina and Mossy accumulated 22 million.

Cat 6. Maru The Box Cat.

Maru became a star for its love of boxes.

Maru lives in Japan, keeps a blog: http://sisinmaru.blog17.fc2.com/, and ofcause published a book too (what cat hasn’t ?).

Cat 7. The Impatient Kitty.

This kitten is not exactly a star yet – less than a million views on Youtube. But it is so adorable that I can’t resist including it in my list.

Cat 8. Baobao.

Baobao was a Flickr star: http://www.flickr.com/photos/babykailan/sets/768013/. Unfortunately he died a year a go. He lived only for 3 years, but it was enough for him to release a book and leave his mark in history.

Cats 9, 10, and 11. The Engineers’ Cats.

Zoe, Ginger, and Oscar starred in such popular shows like Engineer’s Guide To Cats, and Engineer's Guide to Cat Yodeling.

Cat 12. The Roomba Driver Cat.

I think this cat started a craze of roomba riding. Fashion for filming one’s cat riding has spread like a plague. Probably everyone who has a cat and a roomba or a scooba has done a video by now.
