Jim and I are back from Las Vegas, where we went for our wedding ceremony and honeymoon. We had a great time. Las Vegas exceeded our expectations and pleasantly surprised us. If not for 10 hours flight and 8 hours time difference, I would be going there for holidays all the time.
Everyone was so nice, it blew me away. For example: when Jim and I would be taking photos of each other, complete strangers, often other tourists, would stop and offer to help taking a photo of the two of us – absolutely no agenda, simply because they are nice. When we were dressed up on our wedding day, I think we received no less than 50 congratulations from complete strangers. I understand Americans better now. Outside their environment they seemed strange and too forward. But once you are there and go about for few days with everyone around pleasantly chatting to you, complimenting you, congratulating you, wishing you a good day, etc, you realise that this is simply a form of friendliness with no agenda whatsoever.
Service also blew me away. It was absolutely superb everywhere we went and very good value for money comparing to UK. It is indeed a land of consumerism and everything to the tiny details is designed to make the consumption as enjoyable as possible. It even feels like all those waiters, servers, sellers, drivers, etc are genuinely happy to see you as if you are not obviously 100th costumer today, but the only one. They really go out of their way to please and entertain you. Jim and I were quite impressed.
All in all – we loved it and will come back again. I will be posting photos and videos here soon as I am sorting through them.
