This bronze dog in Tyumen in Russia has collected half a million roubles in a year for homeless animals charity. Most people put only coins in it and the biggest donated banknote so far is 1000 roubles (about £20). The money was used so far to build 10 new animal homes in local animal shelter, to buy medicine, including supplies for sterilizing animals, as well as, animal food, and other various supplies.

Another bronze dog in Kostroma in Russia wasn’t so lucky. It only raised 1.5 thousand roubles (about £30), before it was robbed by a teen, who was caught and given suspended sentence. But bad luck wasn't over for this dog. Someone sawed its tail of and discarded it near by. The statue was repaired; now it is under video surveillance and starting to become a local landmark – people started to rub its nose and make a wish.
