I have got few sunflowers that came out of nowhere. I certainly didn’t plant them, so I wonder if a bird or a squirrel have dropped or buried the seeds. Avocado tree moved indoors as I was afraid that it might be becoming to cold for it at nights, but it doesn’t seem to like the change.

My radish and rocket salad are flowering and producing seeds, but there are plenty of lettuce and peas to eat now. Beans are ripening.

Jim has bought me this beautiful orchid as a present. Isn’t it lovely?
I had never had an orchid before, so I had to research a little on how to look after it. I would hate to kill this beauty. So this is what I found out so far: The most common mistake is over watering an orchid. It should be watered in the following fashion. The dirt or growing medium should be allowed to dry completely then bathed in the water. To check if it is dry, one can stick a toothpick in the dirt and see if the toothpick looks wet or not. To bath an orchid one should put a pot, with the drainage holes at the bottom of it, in the filtered or distilled water for a few minutes living the flowers dry. I already gave my orchid a bath and it seems very happy with it :)
